The evening includes a silent auction of tantalizing items from a wide array of local merchants and artisans; a delicious dinner; delectable Dessert Dash; and a fun-filled live auction of one-of-a-kind items. Yom Ha'atzmaut CelebrationWednesday, May 3rd. Help the Israel Program Task Force celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut/Israeli Independence Day, at 5:30 pm in the social hall.  Everyone is invited to join us in celebrating 69 years of the State of Israel.  We'll serve falafel, humus, pita, and birthday cake, and ask you to bring salads or other vegetarian foods to compliment the dinner. We'll have Israeli music and folk dancing -- no fear for newcomers, there will be someone to teach the steps. Talmud Torah families -- what better way to help your kids process Hebrew School lessons than stuffing them full of humus and letting them dance it off?  At 7 pm we'll screen "A Tale of Love and Darkness," based on the memoir by Israeli author Amos Oz, it depicts life in Jerusalem in the 1930's and '40s, and stars Israeli Natalie Portman. 

Congregational Members Meeting May 4 at 7:00pm. The Board will put forth a proposal for a by-laws revision related to non-Jewish participation that is based on the extensive work of the Membership Task Force. TBI members, if you missed the email on this, Please visit the Membership Policy web page for more information. The congregation will also vote on the 17-18 budget at the meeting. 

White Supremacy, Antisemitism, and Building a Resilient Community - May 13th at 6:00PM

Come and eat!  Tikkun Olam Committee and the United Methodist Church are hosting Jessica Campbell from Rural Organizing Project to educate us about increased white supremacist activity in our area.  We are inviting a variety of community groups to eat with us, listen, and talk in small groups about what we can do to support each other.  Cosponsors include NAACP of Lane County, Group Latino Accion Directa, SURJ, Community Alliance for Lane County, Jewish Federation of Lane County, and the Eugene Human Rights Commission.
